| Archived update for the week of 04/23/06 | | | | Despite the storm that mother nature threw at us, we still had the Veterans Information Seminar as scheduled and had 115 participants to make it a very successful seminar. The VA's Homeless Program Directors to include the Homeless Veterans Coordinator for Incarcerated Veterans, VA Veterans Canton Memorial Cemetery Director and GA Department of Veterans Services were guest speakers | | | | The fourth month of the year is almost over and events have been coming and going very quickly. We still have many more events being planned and the Chapter needs everyone's help to make them successful to include raising donations to make the chapter operate. Our next big event will be April 29th and 30th on Naval Air Station Atlanta for the air show featuring the Navy's Blue Angels F/A 18 Hornet. The DAV will also have it's B-25 Mitchell on static display. | | | | Department of Housing Urban Develop, Department of Labor and Veterans Administration has announced their grants for 2006 - 2007 are available and applications are due to them by May 22nd. The Chapter along support of it's partnerships with various agencies will be submitting applications for these grants to help support and operate the Homeless Veterans Program for Cobb, Douglas, Paulding, Cherokee and Bartow Counties. |
