| Archived update for the week of 04/02/06 | | | | The chapter had a good month of March as we helped one homeless female veteran off the streets, did 8 claims, received support from 4 other DAV Chapters to help implement a State DAV Homeless Program and was asked to join two other Cobb County Agencies in applying for a 2.2 million dollar homeless grant from HUD. | | | | April will be a very busy month for us and an excellent chance for us to help service veterans with the Information Seminar on April 8th and the Air Show on April 29th and 30th. The new Canton VA Veterans Memorial Cemetery opens up for burials on April 24th and the Chapter received a request from a dying Viet Nam Marine Veteran to help his wife with the funeral arrangements. | | | | During the recent State DAV Conference, the chapter received many praises from Congressman Phil Gingrey and other chapters for our work and dedication. |
